Srinagar, Jan 9 — The University of Kashmir will observe its winter vacation from January 10 to February 22, the university’s Registrar, Prof Naseer Iqbal, said on Friday.
“The winter vacation will commence from January 10 and continue till February 22,” Prof Iqbal said.
The announcement comes later than usual. The University of Kashmir typically begins its winter break from January 1, but officials said the delay was linked to plans to hold the annual convocation.
“Earlier, the convocation was proposed for the last week of December, but it could not be held because some official issues were still pending,” a university source said.
Asked about the status of the convocation now, Prof Iqbal said no final call has been taken yet. “The university is yet to take a final decision regarding the convocation,” he said.
Officials indicated that uncertainty over the convocation schedule led to the late notification of the winter vacation this year.
