Banihal Records Hottest Temperature in J&K at 23.4°C

Srinagar: As the day temperatures in J&K have been consistently rising over the past few days, Banihal stands out as the hottest place in the region.

As per details, Pir Panchal’s, Banihal recorded a maximum day temperature of 23.4 ° Celsius on Thursday, breaking all the previous record of 21 years.

Moreover, Kashmir’s Capital Srinagar recorded a maximum day temperature of 12° Celsius on Thursday, while, on the interviewing night of Thursday-Friday, a minimum night temperature of -4.0 ° Celsius was recorded

In South Kashmir’s Qazigund, the gateway town of valley, a lowest temperature of -4.2 ° Celsius was recorded. Pahalgam, Kashmir’s famous tourist resort shivered at minimum temperature of -5.3 ° Celsius. While, Kokernag recorded a lowest temperature of -2.4 ° Celsius.

Further, in Jammu region, a maximum day temperature of 8.6 ° Celsius was recorded on yesterday, whereas the minimum night temperature of 3.7 ° Celsius was recorded on today.

Additionally, MeT has predicted light snowfall from today’s late night at higher reaches of the valley due to the presence of a weak western disturbance.
