Police Seize House Under UAPA In South Kashmir’s Pulwama

Pulwama: J&K Police have seized a residential house worth lacs of rupees under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967 in the Monghama area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama, stating that the property was allegedly used by militants for sheltering. 

In a statement to The Himalayan Post, the police said: “The property—a single-storey residential house located in Monghama, Pulwama—was used by militants for their shelter and other logistical support. This assistance was provided by the house owner, identified as Mohammad Lateef Kar, son of Gh Ahmad Kar.”

The property is now under official seizure, prohibiting any transfer, lease, disposal, or alteration without prior permission from the designated authority, it reads.

This seizure is because of a case registered under FIR No. 315/2023 at Police Station Pulwama, under sections 16, 18, 19, 20, 38, and 39 of the UA(P) Act, it added.
