Srinagar: The administration is constructing a war memorial at Pratap Park in Srinagar city’s Lal Chowk area as a tribute to the Indian forces.
“In a bid to pay tribute to the soldiers who sacrificed their lives in the service of the nation, a war memorial (Balidaan Stambh) is coming up at Pratap Park in the commercial hub of Lal Chowk here,” Anuj Kumar Malhotra, General Manager of Srinagar Smart City Limited (SSCL), told KNO news agency.
“The work is going on in full swing and is expected to be completed within a month or two,” he said.
“The foundation stone of Balidaan Stambh was laid by Home Minister Amit Shah on June 24, 2023, during his two-day visit to J&K. The work is going on at present, and we are expecting to complete the project in the next two months,” Malhotra said.
“A wall will be constructed alongside on which the names of the fallen soldiers will be written,” he added.
