Bijbhera: A convoy carrying Mehbooba Mufti, the former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir and President of the Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), met with an accident in Bijbehara area of South Kashmir, injuring one Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) personnel.
According to reports, the accident occurred when Mufti's convoy was en route to a scheduled public meeting when the driver lost control, leading to a collision with an 'auto'.
However, the exact cause of the accident is still under investigation.
Mehbooba Mufti, who was in a different vehicle within the convoy, was unhurt and continued to her scheduled engagements after ensuring that the injured personnel received medical attention.
This is the second accident where the former CM escaped unhurt, in January, the driver of her car received injuries in his leg when she was on her way to Khanabal to meet victims of a fire incident.
