Jammu: J&K’s administrator, LG Manoj Sinha, announced on Sunday that housing facilities, named 'Sainik' colonies, will be provided to the families of slain armed forces in multiple areas of Jammu and Kashmir.
After addressing a function in Jammu, Sinha interacted with the families of the slain armed forces and stated that militancy is on its deathbed, but opponents are attempting to reignite it.
He also declared an increase in the ex-gratia relief.
"Rs 25 lakh ex-gratia for the families of slain armed forces personnel was too little. I will ensure that the amount is raised this year," he said.
Sinha also expressed support for the participation of retired armed forces personnel in the ongoing fight against militancy in Kashmir.
