Srinagar: The J&K Tourism Department is going to conduct surprise inspections at hotels and houseboats to assess the services offered to tourists, a senior official in the tourism department Kashmir said.

“This initiative aims to ensure that visitors are treated well with a focus on quality services and adherence to government-approved rates,” he said.

“Our priority is to create an environment where tourists feel welcomed and their needs are met with the highest standards of service. To achieve this, we are going to intensify surprise inspections to evaluate the facilities and services provided by hotels and houseboats.” He added.

The inspections are designed to ensure that establishments comply with the prescribed standards set by the government, he added.

“Tourists should not be subjected to overpricing. We are actively monitoring and ensuring that all establishments adhere to the rates issued by the government. This not only protects the interests of tourists but also promotes fairness within the tourism sector,” he added.
