Srinagar: In a swift response, the Jammu and Kashmir Police have reportedly solved a blind murder case of a woman from Bemina within just five days of the incident and arrested four accused including in-laws and the husband of the deceased.
As per police. The case came to light on October 17, 2023, when the Bemina Police Station received information about the discovery of the unidentified woman's body on the roadside in Durbal, Bemina. Police immediately dispatched a team to secure the scene and initiate the investigation.
A formal case, FIR No. 101/2023 u/s 302 IPC, was registered at the Bemina Police Station. The victim was later identified as Tanveera, the wife of Showkat Ahmad Kaloo, a resident of Nundresh Colony B, Batamaloo, Srinagar.
Through an investigation led by the SDPO West and supported by the SHO PS Bemina, it was determined that the woman was murdered on October 16, 2023, at West End Colony, Hyderpora. Her body was then transported from Hyderpora to Durbal, Bemina, in an apparent attempt to divert the investigation.
Based on technical evidence, sustained questioning of suspects, and subsequent recoveries, the police have apprehended four individuals in connection with the case.
The arrested persons include Abina Parveez, sister-in-law of the deceased, along with her husband Parveez Ahmad Shah. Additionally, a minor female child's identity has been withheld. Gh. Mohd Ahanger, the son of the late Haji Gh. Hussain Ahanger, and Jala Wadoo, the wife of Gh. Mohd Ahanger, have also been taken into custody. The latter two individuals are the parents of accused No. 1.
