Srinagar: The government of India has initiated an inquiry into the functioning of the Kashmir Chamber of Commerce & Industry (KCCI), an esteemed trade body established in 1934.
The Registrar of Companies, Srinagar, has directed KCCI to submit information and documents within 15 days, including board meeting statements, bank and account statements, details of donations and funding sources, as well as credentials of office-bearers since 2010.
Non-compliance may result in penalties under relevant sections of the Companies Act, according to officials.
