Crime Cases Rise In Kashmir, Reports Five In Week

Srinagar: Crime cases have risen in the Valley of Kashmir as five bizarre crimes were reported over the past week; the cases include kidnapping, death under mysterious circumstances, knife and hammer attacks and body chopping.

On Thursday, an elderly woman was allegedly attacked by an ‘unknown’ person in the Shalimar area of Srinagar with a knife and a woman beggar from Rajasthan kidnapped a four-year-old boy in central Kashmir’s Budgam district.

On Wednesday; a 28-year-old youth, identified as Suhail Rehman Beigh, and resident of Karfali Mohalla, Nawab Bazaar, was found ‘dead’ under mysterious circumstances in the Tengan-Nowgam area of Srinagar outskirts.

As per his family, “the deceased had dropped his father near Habba Kadal in Srinagar on Monday; and went missing till they heard about his death on Wednesday morning.

On Tuesday, a man was attacked with a hammer and injured by his in-laws in the Narkara area of Central Kashmir's Budgam district.

On Sunday, a 30-year-old woman was chopped into pieces by a carpenter in the Mohanpora area of central Kashmir’s Budgam district.
