Budgam: Jammu and Kashmir Police on Thursday arrested a non-local woman for kidnapping a four-year-old child in central Kashmir’s Budgam district.
The accused lady has been identified as Chidi Devi, wife of Khana Ram and a resident of Dhannasar, Hanumangarh area of Rajasthan.
Police station, Khag received information that one lady who was begging in Dalwash village of Khag kidnapped a child, aged about 04 years namely- Ahil Ahmad Pandith, son of Ghulam Mohi-Din Pandith and a resident of the same Dalwash, Police said in a statement.
Local women of the area apprehended the accused lady as she had concealed the minor under her scarf.
However, the police party rushed to the spot along with the lady police and arrested the accused on the spot, the statement reads.
The boy was handed over to his parents after medico legal formalities, it reads.
A case under FIR number 17/2023 under relevant sections of law stands registered at Police Station Khag and investigation taken up.
