Poonch: Body of Special Police Officer (SPO) identified as Khaliq Hussain was discovered early Tuesday morning in the Pir Panjal region of Poonch with Authorities suspecting that the officer may have lost his life in an accident.
According to a police official, SPO Khaliq Hussain, who was stationed at DPL Poonch and associated with the local Police Station, was found near the Kankote area within the district.
The officer's body was located approximately 10 feet below the roadside, with his motorcycle lying nearby, he said.
“His body has been transported to District Hospital Poonch to undergo necessary medico-legal procedures."
SHO Poonch, Deepak Pathina confirmed recovery saying that the initial findings point towards the possibility of an accident as the cause of death.
An investigation is currently in progress to ascertain the exact circumstances surrounding this tragic incident, he added.
