Kulgam: Jammu and Kashmir Police said it seized nine vehicles and arrested nine persons involved in the illegal excavation and transportation of minerals in south Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Sunday.
Police seized nine vehicles loaded with illegal sand and boulders at a checkpoint in Khudwani bypass and also arrested 9 persons, Police said in a statement.
The statement reads FIR No. 17/2023 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station, Qaimoh and an investigation is in progress.
Any person involved in illegal practice must refrain from it, otherwise, strict action under the law will be initiated against them, it reads.
