NEW DELHI, May 29 — The National Testing Agency (NTA) has extended till June 22 the deadline for NEET-UG 2026 candidates to submit bank account details for refund of examination fees after the medical entrance test was cancelled over alleged paper leak allegations.
The agency said around 13 lakh candidates have already updated their bank account information on the NEET (UG)-2026 registration portal.
“In order to facilitate candidates who are yet to submit their bank account details, NTA has decided to extend the facility for submission of bank account details, till 22 June 2026,” the agency said in a notice posted on X on Wednesday.
The facility was earlier available from May 22 to May 26 till 11:50 PM. Candidates can log in to the NEET-UG 2026 portal using their credentials and access the refund link to submit their preferred bank account details.
The NTA said candidates may also upload a cancelled cheque “to ensure accuracy of the bank account information”.
“Once the bank account details are submitted, the same shall be treated as final and no further modification shall be permitted thereafter,” the agency said.
Nearly 23 lakh candidates had registered for NEET-UG 2026, which was conducted on May 3. The examination was cancelled by the NTA on May 12 following allegations of a paper leak.
The Central Bureau of Investigation is probing the matter. A fresh examination is scheduled to be held on June 21.
While announcing the retest, the NTA had said candidates would not be charged any fee for the fresh examination and that the fees paid earlier would be refunded.
