New Delhi, June 8 — Leaders of the INDIA bloc on Sunday resolved to write to the Chief Justice of India over the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls and unanimously demanded the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan following a meeting attended by 23 Opposition leaders.

Addressing the media after the meeting, alliance leaders said the Opposition had agreed on five key decisions aimed at strengthening coordination and raising concerns over electoral, educational and economic issues.

The bloc's first decision was to send a letter to the Chief Justice of India regarding the Special Intensive Revision exercise, which Opposition parties alleged could lead to “vote loot” and the “stealing of elections.”

“The letter is to be delivered to the CJI very soon,” the leaders said.

The alliance also unanimously demanded the immediate resignation of Pradhan, holding him responsible for controversies surrounding major examinations.

“He presided over the betrayal of lakhs of youth who appeared for NEET and CBSE exams,” the leaders said.

The INDIA bloc further called on the Union Government to convene an all-party meeting to discuss what it described as a worsening economic situation, including unemployment, inflation, farmers' concerns and other public issues.

To strengthen internal coordination, the alliance decided that all constituent parties would meet once every two months. The next meeting is scheduled to be held in Hyderabad in August.

The Opposition grouping also agreed to maintain coordinated floor strategy during the upcoming Monsoon Session of Parliament. Leaders said daily morning meetings would be held in the office of the Leader of Opposition in the Rajya Sabha, Mallikarjun Kharge.

Leaders from 23 Opposition parties attended the meeting. The Aam Aadmi Party and several Tamil Nadu-based parties, including the DMK, were not present.
