HMV-LMV Collides, Kills Tourist In South Kashmir’s Bijbehra

Srinagar: A tourist was killed and four others were injured after their Light Motor Vehicle (LMV) collided with a heavy motor vehicle (HMV) in the Bijbehara area of south Kashmir's Anantnag district, officials said.

They said an ETIOS car collided with a truck JK03A 8931 near Arwani bridge in Bijbehara, resulting in an on-spot death and injuries to four persons. 

"One among the injured persons, identified as Karuna Sardar (35), wife of Dayal Sardar, a resident of Kolkata, succumbed soon after the accident", they said.

The injured persons were identified as Rakesh, son of Ratan Lal of Udhampur, Nandita Vedi, and Bahnolal Chjerveti - both residents of Kolkata and an unidentified man, were evacuated from the site to a nearby hospital for treatment, they added.

Police have registered a case in this regard.
