Four Residential Houses Seized in Bijbehara NDPS Case

Properties in Tulkhan identified as proceeds of drug trade, police say

Bijbehara, Apr 15 — Police on Wednesday seized four residential houses in Tulkhan area of Bijbehara in Anantnag district in connection with a narcotics case registered under the NDPS Act, officials said.

The action was taken under FIR No. 50/2021 at Police Station Bijbehara under sections 8/20-29 of the NDPS Act, with officials stating that the properties were identified as proceeds of illegal drug trade.

In a statement, police said the houses belonged to individuals allegedly involved in narcotics-related activities and were attached as part of an ongoing anti-drug crackdown.

The seized properties include a double-storey house worth around ₹1 crore owned by Rayees Ahmed Dar, son of Ghulam Nabi Dar, a resident of Tulkhan. A single-storey house valued at approximately ₹30 lakh belonging to Sabzar Ahmad Dar, son of Mohammad Rajab Dar, was also seized.

Additionally, a single-storey house worth ₹65 lakh owned by Mudasir Ahmed Dar, son of Abdul Rahim Dar, and another house valued at around ₹30 lakh belonging to Zahid Ahmad Dar, son of Ghulam Hassan Dar, both residents of the same locality, were attached.

Officials said the seizures form part of sustained efforts to curb drug trafficking and dismantle networks operating in the area.
