Doda, Jan 14 — A 17-year-old Class 12 student was found dead at his home in Chenab region’s Doda district on Wednesday, hours after the Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) declared the annual examination results.
The student, identified as Revansh Sharma, son of Bal Krishan and a resident of Paryote village in the area, was reportedly distressed after he failed in one subject, Economics, in the Class 12 results announced earlier in the day.
“The boy was alone at home. When his sister returned, she found him unresponsive,” a local official said.
He was rushed for medico-legal formalities, where doctors declared him dead.
Police said they have taken cognisance of the incident.
“Proceedings under law have been initiated and the circumstances are being verified,” an officer said.
