Ramban: A case has been filed against Ankush Singh Rajput, a social media user identified in Ramban district, for committing blasphemy against the last Islamic prophet, Muhammad (Pbuh).
In his post, he used abusive comments against Allah and Islam’s last messenger, triggering anger among the local residents.
The Police registered a case against the accused and booked him under the relevant sections of law.
According to the Police, he was booked under section 295-A (Outraging religious feelings of others), 153 A (attacking another religion) and section 505 (incitement) of the Indian Penal Code.
“Strongly condemning any efforts of blasphemy of Prophet Mohammed (SAW) on a social media post. A criminal acts that disrupt peace. The District administration is taking swift action; FIR already filed against the culprits under sections 295-A, 153-A, 298, and 505 IPC,” District Magistrate Ramban said.
There is zero tolerance for such provocative behaviour, he said.
The DC Ramban also urged the public to prioritize communal harmony and respect all sentiments.
