To Boost Enrolment In Govt Schools, DSEK Announces Door-To-Door Campaign

Srinagar: The School Education Department on Saturday announced a door-to-door campaign from March-15 to boost students’ enrolment in Government Schools in Kashmir valley.   

The Director of School Education Kashmir (DSEK), Tassaduq Hussain Mir announced the campaign for the Academic Session 2023-24 stating that it shall not affect the school work, as per the statement.

“The enrollment drive of last session was a mega success and all functionaries of the department especially, teachers and school heads played a crucial role due to which our Department got recognition at the national level,” the DESK statement reads.

The campaign will continue for ten days starting from March-15-2023 and will be launched from north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.

“All Education Officers including JDs, Chief Education officers, Principal DIETs, HODs of DIETs, Deputy CEOs, DEPOs, DIET faculty, Zonal Education Officers, and Zonal Education Planning officers shall visit at least one or more habitations as part of the door-to-door campaign to inspire field functionaries,” Director said in the statement.

The director also said that the concerned officials shall update the village education registrar in schools for the identification of Out-of-school Children (sic) (OoSC) and Children with Special Needs (CwSN).

“The activity should also include mainstreaming out-of-school children including the dropouts, never enrolled and CwSN,” it reads further.
