Sonamarg: Srinagar-Leh highway has reopened for traffic after 10 days of closure due to heavy snowfall and avalanches at the Zojila Pass.

According to reports, dozens of passenger vehicles were stranded at Zojila Pass, which connects the Kashmir Valley to the Ladakh region.

The reopening is limited to passenger vehicles, specifically those stranded during the closure, according to reports.

Heavy vehicles and other traffic will be permitted after further clearance of the snow accumulation, as per reports.

The Border Roads Organisation (BRO) played a vital role in clearing snow and debris from Kargil’s Drass and Kashmir Valley’s Sonamarg to facilitate the reopening.
