Srinagar: In honor of Meraj-ul-Alam (PBUH), Kashmir's road transport authorities have announced the deployment of a special bus service to assist devotees journeying to Dargah Hazratbal.
Shab-e-Mehraj is observed on the 27th day of the Islamic month of Rajab. It commemorates the night when Allah (God) took the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) on a journey from Mecca to Jerusalem and then to heaven.
An official stated that to ensure smooth transportation for devotees, approximately 100 buses, including e-buses, have been strategically stationed across Srinagar, complementing the extra deployment of buses throughout Kashmir."
"In addition to special bus service, a dedicated counter has been established at Lal Chowk near Makkah Market to assist devotees with their travel arrangements to Dargah Hazratbal", the official said.
He added that the deployment of a special bus service will remain in place till tomorrow evening.
On Wednesday night, thousands of devotees converged at Dargah Hazratbal and prayed the whole night on the occasion of Shab-e Mehraj (SAW).
On the occasion, other Masjids and shrines across the Valley also reverberated with recitations of the Holy Quran.
