Srinagar: In a scathing critique of the government's negligence in addressing the escalating issue of road accidents in Jammu and Kashmir, Mubarak Gul, a senior National Conference (NC) leader and former Speaker of the J&K Legislative Assembly, voiced his concerns on Monday.
The unionist accused the LG-led administration of turning a blind eye to the rising toll of lives lost in accidents throughout the region.
Speaking at Sher-e-Kashmir Bhawan while interacting with senior party colleagues, Mubarak Gul said that the government's failure to implement adequate measures to curb road accidents.
He also conveyed deep dismay over the recent Assar Doda accident, where 39 people lost their lives, and 17 others sustained severe injuries.
