Saudi 'Condemns' Israel's Resettlement Bill

As the Israeli Knesset (legislative body) ratified the abolishment of the 2005 disengagement plan bill which removed illegal Jewish settlements from the northern West Bank, the kingdom of Saudi Arabia 'condemned' the decision and called the move an obstruction of the 'Arab Peace.'

The ratification allows Jewish resettlement over evacuated illegal settlements and outposts in the occupied West Bank.

"The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed the Kingdom's strong condemnation of this decision," the ministry said in a statement, describing the move as a "flagrant violation of all international laws."

The statement pointed out that the Israeli decision was undermining regional and international peace efforts, obstructing political solutions based on the 'Arab Peace Initiative' and the establishment of a Palestinian state on the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital.

On August 13, 2020, Israel, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Morocco, Sudan, and the United States signed Abraham Accords as a joint alliance for the normalization of relationships between the Arab world and Israel.

The accord was named after the prophet Abraham (Ibrahim), a common figure revered by Islam, Judaism, and Christianity.
