Srinagar: The Commissioner of Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC), Athar Aamir Khan, has directed the anti-encroachment and enforcements wings to check the building permission and registration of all the commercial establishments across the city.
As per SMC, the directive aims to verify building permissions and registration status for all commercial entities operating within Srinagar.
According to an official order, it is legally mandated that any commercial enterprise within the city must be situated in a building with proper commercial building permission from the Competent Authority.
Additionally, “they must obtain official registration from the Srinagar Municipal Corporation.”
The order clearly states, "Now therefore, it is hereby ordered that the Anti-Encroachment and Enforcements wings of Srinagar Municipal Corporation to visit and check the building permission/registration of commercial establishments in the city and ensure necessary action for enforcement as per law."
This move by the SMC aims to ensure the compliance of commercial establishments with city regulations and enhance the overall urban planning and development within Srinagar.
