Moscow, May 16 — The Kremlin on Saturday announced that Russian President Vladimir Putin will visit China from May 19 to 20 for talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping, days after US President Donald Trump concluded a high-profile visit to Beijing.
In a statement, the Kremlin said Putin and Xi would discuss bilateral relations and exchange views on key international and regional issues during the visit.
The two leaders are also expected to sign a joint declaration marking the 25th anniversary of the Russia-China Treaty of Good-Neighbourliness and Cooperation.
The visit comes amid rising geopolitical tensions surrounding the Iran conflict, Taiwan and the war in Ukraine, with Moscow and Beijing signalling closer coordination following the recent Trump-Xi summit in Beijing earlier this week.
Observers view the visit as part of ongoing efforts by Russia and China to strengthen strategic ties amid growing global realignments and tensions involving the West.
