NIA Seizes Six Properties Under UAPA In Pulwama

Pulwama: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) seized six immovable properties (land) in the Mirpora area of South Kashmir’s Pulwama District on Wednesday belonging to Asif Ahmed Malik, a resident of Pulwama, who stands accused of sheltering militants. 

The properties have been attached under Section 33 (1) of UA (P) Act, 1967.

According to the NIA, he is accused of providing shelter to militants before they carried out attacks against forces and facilitating militant movement into the Kashmir valley from across the Line of Control (LOC).

Malik was arrested on 31st January 2020 and charged on 27th July 2020 under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), Explosive Substances Act, Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UA(P) Act), and the Indian Wireless Telegraphy Act, 1933," the NIA said.

He is currently undergoing trial before the NIA Special Court in Jammu in the case RC-02/2020/NIA/JMU.

Now, the NIA has attached a total of 109 properties in Jammu and Kashmir under the provisions of the UA(P) Act.
