Srinagar: J&K Police said it along with the Army and CRPF (Central Reserve Police Forces) arrested two OGWs (Over found workers) at a checkpoint in the Sumlar area of Bandipora on Saturday and recovered two Chinese grenades from their possession.
In a statement; police said that based on information, Police Along with Army (14RR) & CRPF (Central Reserve Police Force) (3rdBN) established a checkpoint at Sumlar near Fisheries Farm, Bandipora, and intercepted two suspected persons identified as Abrar Ahmad Wani and Danish Pervaiz, both citizens of Sumlar, Bandipora.
During checking, two Chinese grenades & other incriminating materials were recovered from their possession. reads the statement.
A case with FIR number 40/2023 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Bandipora and further investigation has been initiated.
