PDP Alleges Govt’s Crackdown Following Denied Permission For 5 Aug Program

Srinagar: The People's Democratic Party (PDP) has accused the administration of carrying out a massive crackdown against its members after they were denied permission to hold a peaceful program on 5th August.
 
In an official statement issued today, the PDP expressed their strong disapproval of the district administration in Srinagar for detaining PDP leaders and claimed that a massive crackdown was carried out during the intervening night of Friday and Saturday.
 
As per the PDP statement. General Secretary Gh Nahi Lone Hanjura and district President Budgam Mohammad Yasin Bhat were put under house arrest.
 
PDP Youth president Waheed u Rehman Parra, PDP state secretary Abdul Hameed Kohsheen, Aditional spokesperson Abdul Rouf Bhat, District President Srinagar Abdul Qayoom Bhat, Central Kashmir youth coordinator and Constituency charge Lalchowk Zuhaib Yousuf Mir, Constituency in charge Haba Kadal in Arif Laigaro, Constituency charge Chanapora Mohd Iqbal Tramboo and other senior workers were detained at different police stations.
 
The details of the other districts are awaited, it reads. 
 
It is pertinent to mention here PDP sought proper permission from the district magistrate (DC) of Srinagar for conducting a peaceful program on the fourth anniversary of the abrogation of (article 370 of the Indian Constitution)in Sher e Kashmir Park in front of PDP headquarters in Srinagar on 5th August but was denied.
