South Kashmir: Amid rains Jammu and Kashmir's Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Saturday reached Nunwan Base Camp and Chandanwari areas in south Kashmir’s Pahalgam to review arrangements for the ongoing Hindu holy Amarnath pilgrimage.
Mr. Sinha took to Twitter to commend the pilgrims from various parts of India and abroad, describing them as the "Brand Ambassadors of J&K".
“I am extremely proud of entire team, Shrine Board, JKP, CAPFs, Army, BRO, NDRF, SDRF, Mountain Rescue Teams, services providers, citizens for commendable work & ensuring smooth. Through our solidarity, resolve & preparation, we'll overcome any future challenges,” he said in a tweet.
During his visit to the Chandanwari, Sinha interacted with the pilgrims and reviewed the arrangements for queue management. He also discussed the measures taken to ensure the pilgrims' comfortable (food, healthcare, connectivity, sanitation, water) if bad weather persists.
