Kokernag: Fresh firing resumed between militants and forces in Gadole hamlet of Kokernag in South Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Thursday.
A top police officer said that after a lull fresh firing has resumed at the encounter site.
He said operation was suspended for night however more reinforcement was rushed to the spot to seal all escape routes of trapped militants.
Kashmir Police zone in tweet said “In solemn tribute to the unwavering valor of Col Manpreet Singh,Major Ashish Dhonak & DSP Humayun Bhat who laid down their lives leading from the front during this ongoing operation. Our forces persist with unwavering resolve as they encircle 2 LET terrorists including Uzair Khan.”
Earlier, two army officers and a DSP was killed in the same operation on Wednesday.
