Srinagar: Scores of Kashmiri students on Sunday protested at Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) after a Kashmir Ph.D. Scholar asked a group of students not to play badminton following which he was allegedly thrashed.

Some students of the university were playing badminton at 1 am and a Ph.D. scholar from Kashmir asked them not to disturb the students but instead, he was thrashed after a verbal argument, one of the protesting students said.

"The students who were playing badminton started thrashing him. The matter didn't end here, some more non-local students came in a group on the very next day and thrashed the Kashmiri students," he alleged.
