Juvenile Among Two Held With Ammunitions In Pulwama

Srinagar: Two persons accused of being OGWs (Over Ground Workers) were arrested along with a huge cache of arms and ammunition in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district, J&K Police said.  

Acting upon a specific input regarding the delivery of a consignment of weapons in the general area of Pulwama, a special team of Pulwama Police & Army ( 55RR) laid a checkpoint at different suspicious locations, Police said in a statement. 
 
At the Naina-Bhatpora jurisdiction of the Litter police station, two suspects riding a scooter were seen moving along with the consignment bag. The covert team swung into action and tactfully nabbed the duo and recovered the cache, the statement reads. 
 
The two suspects disclosed their names as 30-year-old Showkat Ahmed Digoo, son of Abdul Wahab Digoo and a resident of Naina, and another one's identity was withheld (Juvenile) - resident of Sethar and a cousin of Showkat. 
 
"While questioning Showkat Ahmed disclosed that he was in contact with Jailed OGW Firdous Ahmed Bhat, Son of Abdul Ahad Bhat, resident of Naina presently lodged in central Jail Rajouri in case of FIR No 118/2021 of P/S Litter," it said.
 
The suspect was working for the JeM outfit and this huge cache of Arms and ammunition recovered which include  25 Chinese Grenade, one Pistol, 02 Pistol Magazines, 230 Cartridges of Pistol, 10 AK Magazine, and 300 AK Cartridges, reads the statement.
