New Delhi, April 27 — Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday reiterated that the Pahalgam attackers 'will be served with the harshest response,' stating that the blood of every Indian is boiling amid
attacks and harassment of Kashmiris across India.
Modi, who cut
short his visit to Saudi Arabia due to the Pahalgam attack and traveled to Bihar the next day to inaugurate various projects, made these remarks in his monthly Mann Ki Baat address.
"I feel every India's blood is boiling on seeing pictures of the terror attack," he said.
Modi said ‘the country's unity and solidarity of its 140 crore citizens is its biggest strength in this war against terrorism.’
"This unity is the basis of our decisive fight against terrorism," he said.
The prime minister said the attack in the famous tourist town in Kashmir reflected the desperation and cowardice of the patrons of terrorism, a reference to Pakistan, at a time when ‘peace was returning to the Valley and there was vibrancy in its schools and colleges.’
“Construction work had gained unprecedented pace, democracy was getting stronger, the number of tourists was increasing at a record rate, people's income was increasing, and new opportunities were being created for the youth,” he said further.
The whole world, he said, was with India. "I assure the bereaved families that they will get justice.”
While in Bihar on Thursday, April 24, 2025, he chose to address the public in English, a rare occurrence in his political career, as he typically speaks in Hindi when addressing locals and stated that ‘the terror attack in Pahalgam is an attack on the soul of India.’
