Srinagar, April 24– The cycle of hate has started repeating against Kashmiris, with students across northern India facing threats, assaults, being called terrorists, and ordered to vacate their accommodations, blamed for the Pahalgam attack—a reminiscent of the aftermath of the Pulwama attack.

J&K Students Association said it has received distress calls from Dehradun, Chandigarh, Noida, Himachal, and Prayagraj.

In Dehradun, the Hindu Raksha Dal issued a public warning, demanding all Kashmiri Muslim students leave the city by 10 am Thursday.

“The situation is grim. Students feel unsafe and deeply threatened,” said Nasir Khuehami, national convenor of the association.

He added that Kashmiri students at BFIT College fled to Jolly Grant Airport after written threats circulated on campus.

In Chandigarh, Kashmiri students at Universal Group of Institutions were attacked inside their hostel.

“Locals stormed the premises at midnight, armed with sharp weapons. Clothes were torn, and at least one student was seriously injured,” Khuehami said.

In Noida, a Kashmiri student was beaten up at Amity University.

In Himachal Pradesh, students from Arni University and institutions in Kangra have reported abuse and threats.

In Prayagraj, landlords have told Kashmiri tenants to leave immediately.

“This is the eighth incident since the Pahalgam attack,” said Khuehami. “They’re being labelled as terrorists and forced out under threat.”

Association President Ummar Jamal said a rapid-response team is working to coordinate with authorities in each affected area

The Valley observed a complete shutdown on Wednesday to protest the killing of tourists.

J&K Chief Minister Omar Abdullah said the government is in touch with officials in the states concerned. “I’ve asked them to ensure the safety of Kashmiri students,” he said.

Meanwhile, the Resident Commission of the J&K Government in New Delhi has issued 24/7 helpline numbers for Kashmiri students facing threats and harassment.
