Srinagar, Apr 28 — Police have attached a residential property worth nearly ₹1.5 crore in Saidakadal area of Srinagar under the NDPS Act, officials said on Tuesday.

In a statement, Srinagar Police said the immovable property — a single-storey house with 11 marlas of land — belongs to an accused identified as Bilal Ahmad Patoo, a resident of Sultan Mohalla, Saidakadal.

The action was taken by Police Station Rainawari under Section 68-F of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act in connection with FIR No. 39/2022 registered under Sections 8/20-29 of the Act.

Police said the property was identified as an illegally acquired asset generated through proceeds of drug trafficking.

The attachment was carried out as part of the ongoing Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyaan, with officials stating that such measures target the financial networks linked to narcotics trade.

Further proceedings in the case are underway, police added.
