Srinagar, April 27 — An exchange of fire has been reported between India and Pakistan along the Line of Control for the third consecutive day, as relations between the two neighbors worsened following the Pahalgam attack.
India has accused Pakistan of being responsible for the attack, which Pakistan vehemently denies.
The Indian military said there had been 'unprovoked' firing of small arms 'initiated by Pakistan' along the Line of Control (LoC) that separates the two countries in the divided Kashmir.
“Our own troops responded effectively with appropriate small arms fire,” it added.
So far, Pakistan has not confirmed the latest exchange of fire.
Meanwhile, locals along the Jammu border have been cleaning community bunkers in preparation for any escalation.
Despite India accusing Pakistan of the attack, more than nine homes of local militants have been blown up across the Kashmir Valley, from north to south.
