Srinagar, Feb 10 — A fire broke out in the Habbakadal area of Srinagar late Tuesday evening, damaging several residential houses in the densely populated locality, officials said.
The blaze erupted near the revered Nyama Sahib shrine, according to inputs.
“Two to three residential houses are involved in the fire,” an official said, adding that the cause of the blaze was yet to be determined.
Fire-fighting teams rushed to the spot and were engaged in dousing the flames to prevent the fire from spreading to adjoining structures.
“Operations are underway to bring the situation under control,” the official said.
No injuries or casualties were reported till the filing of this report, while efforts to extinguish the fire continued.
