Srinagar: At a public gathering, Former minister and Apni Party president, Syed Altaf Bukhari on Wednesday said the truth is our (Kashmir’s) destiny lies with India.

In his address, Mr. Bukhari acknowledged that this assertion might be bitter, but he firmly stated, "It's a bitter truth, but it is the only truth” as this truth was embraced by Kashmiri leaders in the 1990s.

Moreover, Bukhari extended an open invitation to those who share a belief in the Indian constitution and distance themselves from involvement in drug abuse and terrorism.

He declared, "The doors of our party are always open to anyone, be it Jamaat-e-Islami, Hurriyat, or anyone who believes in the Indian constitution, opposes communal politics, and is not associated with drug abuse or terrorism."

Furthermore, Mr. Bukhari touched upon the painful legacy of the conflict in the region, lamenting the loss of countless young lives who, in his words, "deserved to be officers of today."
