Jammu: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Jugal Kishore Sharma has filed his nomination papers for the Jammu parliamentary constituency for the third consecutive term, aiming to secure another tenure as Member of Parliament (MP).

Accompanied by BJP leader and Union Minister Anurag Thakur, Sharma submitted his nomination papers at the Deputy Commissioner’s office (Returning Officer) on Saturday, followed by a road show towards Shaheedi Chowk.

Since 2014, the Jammu Lok Sabha seat has been held by BJP MP Jugal Kishore, and the party continues to back him strongly for reelection.

In this electoral cycle, due to delimitation, the twin districts of Rajouri and Poonch have been included in the Anantnag Lok Sabha seat, while Reasi district has become part of the Jammu constituency.

A direct contest is expected between the BJP and the Congress party for the Jammu seat, mirroring the scenario in Udhampur, where the Congress has fielded former minister Raman Bhalla against Sharma.
