Baltal: Under the direction of Dr. Syed Abid Rasheed Shah, Secretary of the Health and Medical Education Department, and Dr. Mushtaq A Rather, Director of Health Services, Kashmir, a unit from the Directorate of Health Services, Kashmir (DHSK) has been deputed to assess the current status of health facilities along the Baltal Axis (from Nilgrath Sonmarg to the Holy Cave) in preparation for the upcoming Hindu holy Amarnath pilgrimage.
According to a communique, the team inspected all 14 institutes established at various locations up to the Holy Cave, reviewing infrastructure status, drug supply logistics, and equipment systems in place.
Traversing up and down on ponies, the team spent sixteen hours conducting site inspections of all health facilities along the Baltal Axis. They also instructed facility staff to adhere to established guidelines and ensure timely completion of tasks.
A detailed report will be submitted to the Director of Health Services, Kashmir, for further action and effective outcomes, as stated in the communique.
