Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir Police have established 19 specialized units to address militant threats across eight districts in the Jammu, Pir Panchal, and Chenab regions.
The districts selected for these units are Udhampur, Kathua, Reasi, Doda, Kishtwar, Ramban, Rajouri, and Poonch.
According to the news agency KDC, an official source stated that these units will enhance security in areas facing increased militant threats.
Specific police stations and posts within these districts have been assigned to each unit for comprehensive coverage.
"Each unit will be led by a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DySP) and will be permanently stationed in the designated districts," the official said.
"These units will focus on counter-terrorism operations while also managing routine law and order responsibilities," he added.
