Srinagar: As the LG administration has been intensifying war against militancy in Kashmir; two more properties have been seized by NIA (National Investigation Agency) on Tuesday in Begum Bagh village of south Kashmir's Pulwama district.

An official said that the property belonging to Mohammed Tika Khan, Son of Abdul Ahad Khan and a resident of Singoo Narbal, was attached by the NIA.

He said that the action was taken under the provisions of UA(P)A by the order of  NIA Special Court Jammu.

Attaching properties where encounters (military operations) adhered was started in 2020.

Later, properties belonging to OGWs’ families were also seized. The process also included some accused drug peddlers.

As per Kashmir times report, almost 200 different properties belonging to persons accused in various cases have been attached in Jammu and Kashmir since 2019 and a majority of the seizures worth crores of rupees took place in 2023.

The properties seized and attached include residential houses, business establishments and immoveable properties.

While no official list was available about the total number of properties, a KASHMIR TIMES report stated the estimated number could be around 200.

It also includes seizures of properties owned by family members of the accused. In one such case, the property in the name of grandfather of an OGW accused has been classified as “proceeds of terrorism”.

Earlier, newly appointed DGP Swain said that they are creating a situation where no one supports militancy in Kashmir.
