US Conducts 7 Air Strikes in Yemen

Yesterday, the US Central Command forces carried out seven “defensive” strikes targeting four Houthi unmanned surface vessels and seven mobile anti-ship cruise missiles, which the US military stated were poised for launch against vessels in the Red Sea.

In a post on X, CENTCOM identified these missiles and USVs (unmanned surface vessels) in Houthi-controlled areas of Yemen.

“It was determined they presented an imminent threat to U.S. Navy ships and merchant vessels in the region,” reads the post.

Reportedly, the Houthis launched attacks on Israel-linked vessels in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden to pressure Israel for a ceasefire in Gaza that has killed at least 27,947 people and wounded 67,459 since October 7.

The Houthi attacks have impacted world trade, leading several major international companies to halt sailing in the Red Sea. Consequently, Israel has established new trade routes via Saudi Arabia, Jordan, and the UAE.
