As the Israel-US meeting began on Thursday, US President Joe Biden, Israeli Prime Minister, and former PM & opposition leader, Benjamin Netanyahu stressed to use of a military option against Iran.

US president is currently on a tour in accordance of the Abraham Accords to the Middle East, from Israel; he will take off for Saudi Arabia.

“Talks between Biden and Netanyahu focused on Iran's nuclear file, The Times of Israel reported.

"I told him that with no credible military option, Iran won't be stopped. If Iran isn't deterred, that military option has to be used," Netanyahu said following the meeting.

Despite being a former prime minister, Netanyahu insisted that sanctions and defensive military preparations against Iran were not enough to deter the country, Middle East Monitor reported,

"There must be a credible offensive military option as the 2015 nuclear deal with world powers was lousy,” he said.

"That's my position, that's my commitment, and I greatly hope that that is the American position," Netanyahu said.

Biden answered with the agreement and said he was pleased to hear it.

Both sides declared a "united stand" against Iran and signed a joint agreement pledging to prevent Iran from acquiring a nuclear weapon, officials said.

Israel had opposed negotiations between Iran and world powers to revive the 2015 nuclear deal, from which US withdrew in 2018.
