Valley Shivers as Mercury Drops Post Snowfall

Srinagar: After snowfall in parts of Kashmir, the mercury has dipped again, with the top tourist resort of Pahalgam recording the season’s coldest night at a minimum temperature of -6.9 degrees Celsius on Tuesday.
 
According to official data, J&K’s capital, Srinagar, recorded a minimum temperature of -3.7 degrees Celsius.
 
In South Kashmir, Qazigund, the gateway town of Kashmir valley, recorded a minimum temperature of -4.2 degrees Celsius, while Kokernag logged a minimum temperature of -3.1 degrees Celsius. Pahalgam, in particular, saw the mercury settle at -6.9 degrees Celsius.
 

In North Kashmir, Kupwara recorded a minimum temperature of -3.8 degrees Celsius. Moreover, the Meteorological Department has predicted cold and dry weather until the 28th of December."
