Three Bodies Recovered in Anantnag, Poonch; Causes of Death Unclear

Srinagar, Apr 13 — Three bodies were recovered in separate incidents in Anantnag and Poonch districts on Monday, with officials saying the causes of death are yet to be ascertained.

In south Kashmir’s Anantnag, two unidentified bodies were found in the Kamad area after locals spotted them and alerted police.

“Locals informed us after noticing the bodies. Police and forensic teams reached the spot, and samples are being collected,” an official said, adding that the cause of death is being investigated.

Officials said forensic science laboratory (FSL) teams are examining the scene, and identification of the deceased is underway.

In a separate incident, the body of a man was recovered near Degree College in Poonch town.

The deceased was identified as Masroof Hussain, son of Farooq Hussain, a resident of Allapir in Poonch district.

Police have shifted the body for medico-legal formalities, officials said. “The exact cause of death is not known at this stage. Investigation has been initiated,” an official said.

Authorities said further details are awaited in both cases.
