Srinagar: Light showers brought respite to people from the scorching heatwave on Saturday as the mercury rose from 18 degrees Celsius on the first week of June to 35.0°C on 23 June in Kashmir capital, Srinagar.
Parts of Srinagar received light rains on saturday evening, along with lightning and thunderstorms, bringing respite from the persistent heatwave conditions.
Meanwhile, the meteorological department said that respite from heat wave in J&K was very likely from June 26 as intermittent rain/thunderstorm is expected during 25th(evening)-28th.
“Some places of J&K may receive heavy Rain/Thunderstorm & lighting.”
