Rajouri: Four military personnel including two captains and two militants from Pakistan-controlled Kashmir have been killed in an ongoing military operation in Pir Panchal region’s Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir.
As per officials, one of the slain militants have been identified as Quari.
“He was a hardcore militant and trained in Pakistan & Afghanistan,” officials stated.
He was also leader of Lashkar-e-Taiba and has been active in Rajouri-Poonch alongwith his group from past one year, police said.
“He is also believed to be mastermind of Dangri & Kandi attacks,” Police stressed.
The operation was launched on Wednesday morning in Baaji Maal area of Barevi village in Kalakote, Rajouri.
Militancy has intensified in the Pir Panchal region since 2019. The Government of India also revived VDG in 2022, Civilian militia- helping government to fight militancy.
