A young Iranian woman who was arrested by Iran’s Morality Police on Tuesday and died in Police custody on Friday has triggered protests following her funeral ceremony, demanding investigation into her death.

Mahsa Amini, 22, was on a visit with her family to the Iranian capital when she was detained on Tuesday by the police after finding fault with her (Hijab) headscarf.

As per reports, Police have fired tear gas to disperse a protest rally in western Iran.

The police said 22-year-old Mahsa Amini has died of a heart attack.

Headscarves are compulsory in Islam and for the women in Iran since the 1979 Islamic Revolution, and members of the morality police enforce the strict dress code.
